Uncontrolled spending equals 9 trillion dollars in debt!

When you think of the 9 trillion dollars that the United States is in debt how many think its because of the war in Iraq and Afghanstan? Well thats not excatly true. What are congress people and senators do is before a bill or legislation is passed they attach pork projects to the bill. This is what is making our debt go higher and higher. Here are some of the things they attach to bills. According to Citizens Against Government Waste reported that during the year of 2007; congress added 11,670 projects to bills which was worth 17.2 billion dollars. The non-profit group mocked the House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., who added $3 million to the Defense bill for The First Tee, a youth golfing program. When questioned by a reporter on CNBC about the earmark, Clyburn suggested that teaching golf "helps you make generals and colonels." The First Tee earmark initially was removed by the House Appropriations Committee, but was added back into the bill, or "airdropped," in conference. In total the democrats recieved 55 percent of the pork-projects, Republicans recieved 44 percent and Independents 1 percent. This is a disgrace and we need to do something about this. However, the top 3 In fact, the top three senators in total earmark dollars all sit on the committee. Ranking member Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., received $892 million in earmarks; Stevens brought home $469 million; and Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., got $465 million. If you notice all 3 are from the Republican party. This is not a one party problem. All parties are responsible for this.

According to taxpayers.net for this year has goverment earmarks that equal 39 billion dollars. Barack Obama's total for earmark for this year already has $3,334,520 in pork-projects for the people of Illinois. With other members of the Senate he has spent $98,648,720. The worst out of the 3 presdiental hopefuls is New Yorks own Hillary Clinton she has $98,000 by herself but with other senators she has the most with totaling over a billion dollars at $1,209,611,755. With this total last night I watched a speech where she accused Presdient Bush of the 9 trillion dollar in debt where she has 1 billion dollars just this year. Yes, Presdient Bush could of vetoed those bills but he didn't. John McCain said if he was elected presdient he would end all earmarks. Lets just see if he has ever supported any pork-spending. According to the same website I used for Hillary and Barack he has no money for pork-projects. So i do believe that he will veto every bill that has a pet-project in it.

First there was the bridge to nowhere now there is a earmark to nowhere. The project is a 10 million dollar interchange between I-75 and Coconut Road in Lee County, Florida. Local officials did not request it but it was added to the 2005 Transportation Bill, reportedly by someone who worked for Rep. Don Young (R-AK). It was one earmark among 6,300 earmarks in the massive $286 billion highway bill signed into law three years ago. But something extraordinary happened with this earmark. In the bill that Congress passed, the project was to widen I-75. But in the bill that went to the president, that project had been mysteriously deleted and replaced with "Coconut Rd. interchange I-75/Lee County.” The difference between the two projects is dramatic. The original I-75 earmark for widening the highway would have provided broad public benefits, but as changed, would fund a project that would benefit a small constituency and provide narrow public benefits. Its stuff like that it proofs that things need to be change.

I am not going to lie; the Iraq war has been costly. The only difference it has not cost as much as you might think. The war as of April 21st 2008 at 4:16 pm CST cost $513,162,310,171. That is alot of money however, remember that our national debt is 9,377,018,755,931.37. I know the Iraq war was very costly and to tell you the truth; I never ever thought we would be still there in 2008. We cannot leave early because not only would we be losing everything that we have successfully done there but those men would of died in vain. I think about the soldiers who died for my and my countries freedom but their sacrifice should never ever be forgot. GOD BLESS AMERICA!! LETS BRING THE TROOPS HOME WITH A VICTORY! I believe its still possible....
