HELP SAVE DARFUR!!

We all heard the horrible stories of World War 2 with Hitler in Germany. He killed millions of jews and anybody else who he thought was not pure. We as the United States of America one of the greatest countries in the world stopped Hitler before he could have world domination. As a world community we should not accept genocide as a way of life. The world never thought that genocide would happen again but Saddam proved us wrong when in the late 80's he gased the kurds; in the end he got what was coming to him as he was hanged for all his evil atrocides against humans. Well guess what after Saddam there is more genocide that is happening in the world. The media has not talked about it very much. It is all over world newspapers but not in America. So I question how many americans know about the War and Genocide that is happening in Darfur.

The War in Darfur is a military conflict in the Darfur region of Western Sudan. Unlike the second Sudanesse Civil war the current lines of conflict are seen to be ethnic and tribal, rather than religious. One side of the armed conflict is the Sudanesse army and the Janjaweed, a milita group recruited mostly by the Arab Baggara tribes of the northern Rizeigat. On the other side of the conflict is the Sudan Liberation Movement and the Justice and Equality Movement. There is recruited primarily from the land-tilling non-Arab Fur, Zaghawa and the Massaleit ethic groups. The goverment of Sudan while they publicly denying that it supports the Janjaweed, has provided money and assistance to the militia and has participated in joint attacks targeting the tribes from which the rebels draw support. This war started in Febuary of 2003. The causes of this war is drought, desertification, and overpopulation. There are many different casualty counts but the United Nations says that it has left 400,000 people dead from disease and the war. The Sudanese government has suppressed information by jailing and killing witnesses since 2004 and tampered with evidence such as mass graves to eliminate their forensic values. We also can't get a good count because any media that tries to get in there is arrested. After the fighting just continued to get worst the United Nations tried to do something. What they did was the Security Council approved a resolution which called for 17,000 more ground troops. Obviously this is not working because the genocide is going on.

We can do something but its not guartneed to work but at least we can try. The international community must provide UNAMID peacekeepers with helicopters and other necessary equipment. We must pressure both the government of Sudan and the fractious rebel groups to get to the peace table. And until they reach a peace agreement, the nations of the world must impose strict travel sanctions and enforce arms embargos on both the government and rebel groups. If you want to donate to help the needy in Darfur go to http://www.savedarfur.org/page/content/dfd/

From Barack Obama's own website he said this about the Darfur conflict "Barack Obama has been a leading voice urging the Bush Administration to take stronger steps to end the genocide in Sudan. He worked with Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) to pass the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act. Obama has traveled to the United Nations to meet with Sudanese officials and visited refugee camps on the Chad-Sudan border to raise international awareness of the ongoing humanitarian disaster there. He also worked with Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) to secure $20 million for the African Union peacekeeping mission. Obama believes the United States needs to lead the world in ending this genocide, including by imposing much tougher sanctions that target Sudan?s oil revenue, implementing and helping to enforce a no-fly zone, and engaging in more intense, effective diplomacy to develop a political roadmap to peace. The international community must, over the Sudanese regime?s protests, deploy a large, capable UN-led and UN-funded force with a robust enforcement mandate to stop the killings".

Hillary Clinton and John McCain didn't have anything about Darfur.

In closing, When you think about how bad our economy is (I agree that economy is bad right now) and that our dollar is falling in value. Keep this in mind. 1 US Dollar equals 205 dollars in Sudan. For my Candian friends, 1 Candian dollar equals 203 CA dollars. Yes, we are in serious trouble with the economy however, we are alot luckier then most countries. Just keep that in mind. God Bless

Uncontrolled spending equals 9 trillion dollars in debt!

When you think of the 9 trillion dollars that the United States is in debt how many think its because of the war in Iraq and Afghanstan? Well thats not excatly true. What are congress people and senators do is before a bill or legislation is passed they attach pork projects to the bill. This is what is making our debt go higher and higher. Here are some of the things they attach to bills. According to Citizens Against Government Waste reported that during the year of 2007; congress added 11,670 projects to bills which was worth 17.2 billion dollars. The non-profit group mocked the House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., who added $3 million to the Defense bill for The First Tee, a youth golfing program. When questioned by a reporter on CNBC about the earmark, Clyburn suggested that teaching golf "helps you make generals and colonels." The First Tee earmark initially was removed by the House Appropriations Committee, but was added back into the bill, or "airdropped," in conference. In total the democrats recieved 55 percent of the pork-projects, Republicans recieved 44 percent and Independents 1 percent. This is a disgrace and we need to do something about this. However, the top 3 In fact, the top three senators in total earmark dollars all sit on the committee. Ranking member Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., received $892 million in earmarks; Stevens brought home $469 million; and Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., got $465 million. If you notice all 3 are from the Republican party. This is not a one party problem. All parties are responsible for this.

According to taxpayers.net for this year has goverment earmarks that equal 39 billion dollars. Barack Obama's total for earmark for this year already has $3,334,520 in pork-projects for the people of Illinois. With other members of the Senate he has spent $98,648,720. The worst out of the 3 presdiental hopefuls is New Yorks own Hillary Clinton she has $98,000 by herself but with other senators she has the most with totaling over a billion dollars at $1,209,611,755. With this total last night I watched a speech where she accused Presdient Bush of the 9 trillion dollar in debt where she has 1 billion dollars just this year. Yes, Presdient Bush could of vetoed those bills but he didn't. John McCain said if he was elected presdient he would end all earmarks. Lets just see if he has ever supported any pork-spending. According to the same website I used for Hillary and Barack he has no money for pork-projects. So i do believe that he will veto every bill that has a pet-project in it.

First there was the bridge to nowhere now there is a earmark to nowhere. The project is a 10 million dollar interchange between I-75 and Coconut Road in Lee County, Florida. Local officials did not request it but it was added to the 2005 Transportation Bill, reportedly by someone who worked for Rep. Don Young (R-AK). It was one earmark among 6,300 earmarks in the massive $286 billion highway bill signed into law three years ago. But something extraordinary happened with this earmark. In the bill that Congress passed, the project was to widen I-75. But in the bill that went to the president, that project had been mysteriously deleted and replaced with "Coconut Rd. interchange I-75/Lee County.” The difference between the two projects is dramatic. The original I-75 earmark for widening the highway would have provided broad public benefits, but as changed, would fund a project that would benefit a small constituency and provide narrow public benefits. Its stuff like that it proofs that things need to be change.

I am not going to lie; the Iraq war has been costly. The only difference it has not cost as much as you might think. The war as of April 21st 2008 at 4:16 pm CST cost $513,162,310,171. That is alot of money however, remember that our national debt is 9,377,018,755,931.37. I know the Iraq war was very costly and to tell you the truth; I never ever thought we would be still there in 2008. We cannot leave early because not only would we be losing everything that we have successfully done there but those men would of died in vain. I think about the soldiers who died for my and my countries freedom but their sacrifice should never ever be forgot. GOD BLESS AMERICA!! LETS BRING THE TROOPS HOME WITH A VICTORY! I believe its still possible....

OUR TROOPS DESERVE FREE COLLAGE EDUCATION!!!

I voted for Bush in 2004 and still believe in the mission that we are doing in Iraq and Afghanstan. I know that these wars aren't popular but our presdient understands that we need to do this for the future of our great country. There is a bill in the Senate and in the house that would allow our troops to have a free education. Not very often do we have both sides agree on something. I am glad that Republicans and Democrats alike can agree to give this life-changing oppurtinuty to our men and women who bravely serve our country. My 2 senators from my homestate of Indiana support this bill if you want to check if your house or senate members support this bill click on the link below and it will take you to the site. I am very disapointed that not all my represives in the house have not signed on. Indiana only has 2 house members. I will be writing them encoruging them to sign on to this very imporant bill.

This is not the first time that they have given troops free education. In 1944 Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed a bill that gave 8 million compact vetrens the oppurtinuty to further their education after they served in World War 2. Back then it was called the "Servicemen’s Readjustment Act,” the bill covered tuition, fees, and books, and gave veterans a living stipend while they were in school. I would have to say that Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, Senators Bob Dole and Patrick Moynihan, and authors Norman Mailer and Frank McCourt all relied on the GI Bill and wouldn't of made it to be as successful if it wasn't for FDR. Today 1.5 million troops are returning from the most imporant war since World War 2 to a different future then Roosevelt would of wanted. In addition, structural problems and bureaucratic delays discourage veterans from using their GI Bill benefits. National Guardsmen and Reservists, including those who have served multiple combat tours, typically receive only a fraction of their GI Bill benefits. Moreover, 30% of troops who pay the nonrefundable $1,200 contribution do not end up using the GI Bill at all. These veterans have paid the government $230 million, but received nothing in return.

This is sick and we owe them and should give them anything they want or need. So lets do the right thing and support this bill.

CHINA SHOULD FREE TIBET!!!

With the Olympics just around the corner and it being in China this year its a good opprotuinty to bring up the human rights that are being violated in China. There has been a lot of protest from around the world about the Olympics being there. Hillary Clinton has even called on our presdient to boycott the Olympic games. To me this will not solve anything the Chinese goverment will just look at that like ok like thats a big deal NOT! The Prime Minister of Britian Gordon Brown announced he is not going to the opening of the olympics this summer so this will put pressure on Bush not to go. I will be very surprised to see if he doesn't go. I think he will go.

This issue between the Chinesse and the Tibets have been going on for centries. Most people in China still consider Tibet to be part of China. However, this couldn't be farther from the truth. They declared their independence from China back in the year 821. This ended almost 200 years of fighting that a treaty engraved on three stone pillars, one of which still stands in front of the Jokhang cathedral in Lhasa. The treaty states: Both Tibet and China shall keep the country and frontiers of which they are now possessed. The whole region to the East of that being the country of Great China and the whole region to the West being assuredly the country of Great Tibet, from either side there shall be no hostile invasion, and no seizure of territory... and in order that this agreement establishing a great era when Tibetans shall be happy in Tibet and Chinese shall be happy in China shall never be changed, the Three Jewels, the body of Saints, the sun and the moon, planets and stars have been invoked as witness. During the 13th and 14th centries Tibet and China were captured and were under the influence of the Mongol empire. China today claims that during that time they became one country by the Mongols domination of the two countries. You also have to remember that this domination by the Mongols was the biggest in world history even today. They had all of Asia and remember that the respective relationships between the Mongols, Tibetans, Mongols and Chinese must be examined. These two relationships were not only radically different in nature, but they also started and ended at different times. Tibet came under Mongol influence before Kublai Khan's conquest of China and regaining complete independence from the Mongols several decades before China regained its independence. In 1911 the CHO-YON relationship came to its final end with the fall of the Manchu Dynasty. Tibet formally declared its Independence in 1912 and continued to conduct itself as a fully sovereign nation until its invasion by Communist China an 1949. During WW2 Tibet remained neutral even though they were getting major pressure from China, US and England. They however, did allow stuff to go thru Tibet which helped the allies beat the Nazi's. Today by international law they are a free country under illegal occupation.

Even though they are a free nation there is some major human rights violations going on in Tibet and in Communist China. They excute more people in China then anywhere else in the world. In 2005 they excuted 1,770 people (average about 3.2 people a day). In the USA we have only excuted 1,099 people since 1976. Some people call our country barbaic but just look at China. I personally am for the death pently however, it should only be used for the most cruesome murders. There are even some organ harvesting like they had on Star Trek Voyager. In 2006 two witnesses inside the communist state have stated that they have started to harvest people who were still alive and sell them on the black market. These people were accused of some crime because they were in jail however, they are human beings and should be treated like Human. On April 14th 2006 the US Deptment of State reported that during its investigation stating that: "U.S. representatives have found no evidence to support allegations that [Sujiatun] has been used as a concentration camp to jail Falun Gong practitioners and harvest their organs. I don't believe our goverment and this is for the very reason that I was against the removal of Terri Schivo's feeding tube. This is the very beginning of this coming to America with this ruling. At first I didn't want the goverment to step in however, I changed my mind when Sean Hannity did a report on how sick her husband was. He just wanted her dead to get the money and to get a new wife. How sick!!! She was still alive. I am very pro-life and now the BBC is reporting that they are taking healthy human babies and killing them just for their stem-cells. I am furious that this can happen in this world. I like the quote "A society is judged by how they treat the newborn and the elderly". I see a future where if you become to hard to take care of they will just kill you off. This is sad but its coming soon to America. China just do the right thing and Free Tibet.
