ME! ME! The Minium wage was 3 dollars and 10 cents. In fashion, nerds were a hot commodity because the movie Revenge of the Nerds was released as a hit movie. In clothing everything was bright and bold even the colors. Neon was in and bell-bottoms were out.

In the 1980 Election between then-presdient Jimmy Carter against Calforina Governor Ronald Reagen. Ronald won the election and came into office with the Iran Hostage Crisis going on for more then a year. A few hours after he was sworn in the American hostages were released. He also came in with a economy that was in danger of having a recession. This caused "Reagenomics" to be born. In Reagenomics you cut government spending and cut taxes for americans because when the top get tax breaks it sparkles down the classes and hits the bottom class. It does this because the rich pay money by businesses and with luxury items then creats jobs. This didn't work right away but started to work in 1984. Most Americans didn't understand this concept and was wondering if this would work.

The cold war was still in effect and many Americans were worried there might be a nuclear holocaust. In March of 1981 the Presdient of the United States was shot by John Hickley. Not only but the entire world was in fear because they didn't know if this was done by the Soviets, or the Iranians, maybe even a crazy person. He was also a very popular presdient and no one wants to see the presdient assinated. Thank Goodness he was fine a month later he was released from the hospital and it was just a crazy person that shot him. 1983 was a tough year for the Soviets and America because it looked more and more likely that a nuclear war was about to start. On
March 23rd 1983 Reagen shocked his fellow countrymen and the world when he annouced that American scientist came up with the ultimate weapon called the SDI which the media called "Star Wars". This involved space stations being in space and stop any missles before they even entered the atmosphere. June 8th 1983 in a speech in Orlando he called the USSR "a evil empire" this scared both countries because they thought either Reagen was going to attack the Soviets or the Soviets were going to attack America. He had courage to say that and most people admire that. Then for many years it was in a standstill until in 1987 when Ronald Reagen said the famous words "Mr Gorbachev open this gate, tear down this wall". Then later in that year Soviet Presdient Gorbachev and US presdient Ronald Reagen signed a agreement to remove all medium and long range nuclear weapons. America, USSR and the World sighed in relief. Maybe this 40 year cold war was almost over. In 1988 Mr. Gorbachev shocked the world when he spoke at the United Nations when he unvielded his vision of the future. He said that the world is facing a nuclear annihilation, enviromentally pollution and terrible poverty in 2/3 of the world. He argued that the USSR could not afford the Cold war any more. Instead, everyone should come together to bring peace to the world's hotspots and pool the resources of the world to end poverty. The world was shocked and then was wondering what now; is this the first step to the end of the cold war? Then the cold war took another step in ending when Reagen's dream came true when the Berlin Wall was torn down on November 9th
1989. Then in Decmeber of 1989 the Communist goverments of Romania, Bulgaria, Lovakia and Czechoslovakia collapsed. It was the end of the cold war.

Terrorism didn't start on September 11th 2001 there as many terrorist attacks before that. The first one of the 80's was the Iran Hostage Crisis. The next attack was in June of 1985 when TWA Jet was hijacked by Islamic extremist group called the PLO. This standoff didn't last longer then a year but just 2 weeks. The PLO did this because they wanted Iseral to release the 700 prisioners they had in their prisions. The PLO let the prisioners go and the next day Iseral let their prisioners go. Then the PLO hijacked a cruise that had 454 people on board. The one unforunte passager who died was a Jewish American who was in a wheelchair that was thrown overboard. It ended when the PLO terrorist surrendered to the Egyptians on the promise they would have safe passage to ally Tunisia. America took action and intercept the plane and forced them to land in Sicily. The United States troops attempted to arrest the terrorist but failed when the Italians wanted to arrest them. They allowed the leader of the terror group to walk free.

There was also tragedy that occured because of human error. On November 4th 1985 in Ukraine there was a explosion. At the time they said it was minor but a few weeks later they admited that it was actually serious. Then in the summer of 1986 they finally told the whole truth. During the night of November 4th right before midnight the employees of a nuclear plant decided to do a experiment where they wanted to see how long the generator would continue to produce power when the steamer was closed down. Doing this broke safety rules and caused a hige surge of heat, which turned the water into steam and caused a explosion that ruptured the fuel tanks. Seconds later, as Hydrogen and Carbon Dixiode released in the 1st explosion came in contact with the air. Then a second explosion, throwing a plum of radioactive dust gas into the atmosphere. Some of the men fled and ran off without reporting the accident. Then in 1989 the Communist China had enough of the protests the people have done and at Tian-An-Men square there was a massacre when student protested and ran them over with a tank.

The 1980's wasn't only a scary or a tragic time there was good times as well. On July 29th 1981 Princess Diana and Prince Charles were married. On August 1st 1981 a brand new cable channel debut where music was on 24 hours a day. It was called MTV. If a band or a singer wanted to be #1 on the charts what they would do is create a music video. MTV didn't charge the band or singer but gave them free air time. Benzir Bhutto became the presdient of Pakistan and doing that she became the first women to be a leader of a moderate muslim state.

The 1980's was a intresting time. The United States went thru the cold war and Reagen's peace thru strength helped America defeat the USSR and ran them out of business. Without Reagen's philosphy we might of lost the war but he knew what he was doing and we won. If only more politicians would be like him.

Analysing the First Presdiental debate

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/09/27/america/27transcript.php

What about Bob Barr for presdeint in 2008?

If your reading this and your like me who doesn't like either candiate maybe Bob Barr is the candiate for you. To those who think that after each presdients term there should be a new court; all I have to say is that will never work. There are many reasons I believe this is and that is because this court will lose its jurisdiction and not be taken serious. The other problem would be that the Supreme Court decides some very imporant issues and if there is a new court they can bring back up the cases again, again and they would never get anything done. I think our founders got it right when they created the Supreme Court and this is what is said of the court in the constitution. "The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their Authority; to all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls; to all Cases of admiralty and maritime Jurisdiction; to Controversies to which the United States shall be a Party; to Controversies between two or more States; between a State and Citizens of another State; between Citizens of different States; between Citizens of the same State claiming Lands under Grants of different States, and between a State, or the Citizens thereof, and foreign States, Citizens or Subjects". It is a pretty open to intrepation which our founding fathers did a lot of.

As the quote above says there is nothing to say how many judges there should be on the court. The presdient doesn't decide the number of justices but Congress does. One presdient FDR tried to make a law that for every justice that is above the age of 70 the presdient gets to add a member and could have as many as 6 per presdient. I am glad that this never worked becuase this would of politicized the court and give one presdient a whole lot of power.

These justices work their entire life for this postion so they should be able to keep the job until they either retire, die or get impeached. So there is check and balances if Congress feels one member is not up to the job or did something horrible they can impeach him/her. In closing, lets not fix whats not broken so leave the Supreme Court alone.

http://law.jrank.org/pages/9921/Roosevelt-Franklin-Delano-FDR-s-Court-Packing-Plan.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supreme_Court_of_the_United_States

JOHN MCCAIN IS A TRUE AMERICAN!!!

John Sidney McCain the third is a great American. I might have problems with him politically and I might end up not voting for him who knows but no one can say that he isn't a great American. There has been some liberal sites saying that he wasn't a great american and he betrayed his country. These statements are simply are not true as the Navy released all his records from his military carrer. He has been awarded 17 medals of honor and didn't throw them to the ground like some people at that time did. Heres a list of the medals that he earned by serving his country...

Silver Star Medal

Legion of Merit w/combat "V" and one gold star

Distingusied Flying Cross

Bronze Star Medal w/combact "V" and two gold stars

Purple Heart w/one gold star

Mertitorous Service Medal

Air Medal w/one bronze star and the Numeral "2"

Navy Commendation Medal w/combact "V" and one gold star

Combact Action Ribbon

Navy Unit Commendation

Meritiorious Unit Commendation

POW medal

National Defense Service Medal

Vietnam Service Medal w/ two bronze stars

Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Cuba)

Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba)

Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device

Look at all these rewards. He is truly a American Hero! Just look at him in that picture. They had to relaign all his bones because those Vietnamesse didn't set his bones correctly. Here is John McCain's story....

The date was October 26th 1967; he was on his 23rd mission and he flew above the heart of Hanoi. Then he said out of no where a Russian missle came up and the sky was full of them. This hit his plane and ended up blowing up his right wing. Then he started to crash and ended up parachuting to the ocean. When he landed in the ocean he broke both his arms and a leg. Also when he landed in the ocean he suck right to the bottom. Could you image sinking to the bottom of a ocean with both your legs broke and a arm broke. Well he said he didn't relize the pain he was in when he pushed off the bottom so he could reach air again. Just as he did this he sunk to the bottom. The reason he sunk again was he was wearing 50 pounds of gear. He managed to kick off the bottom again and reached the surface of the water. He was in a dazed condition. I went up to the top again and sank back down. This time I couldn't get back to the surface. I was wearing an inflatable life-preserver-type thing that looked like water wings. I reached down with my mouth and got the toggle between my teeth and inflated the preserver and finally floated to the top. The North Vietnamese swam out to him and pulled him to the shore. Once they went to the shore they stripped him. (Which is normal prodcure when they capture a Prision of War). This was in the middle of town so a huge group of people started swarming him and they were spitting, screaming and kicking a young John McCain. When they took his clothes off he started to feel a pain in his right knee. I sat up and looked at it, and my right foot was resting next to my left knee, just in a 90-degree position. I said, "My God--my leg!" That seemed to enrage them —I don't know why. One of them slammed a rifle butt down on my shoulder, and smashed it pretty badly. Another stuck a bayonet in my foot. The mob was really getting up-tight. About the same time a guy started screaming at them to leave him alone. A women came over and proped him up and gave him some tea to drink. This quieted the crowd up pretty quick. They put him on a strecher and put him on the ground of jail with just a towel on him. For the next three to four days he came in and out of conscious. During this time he was interrogated which he calls "quizzed". During those sessions of being quizzed he was informed of all the criminal charges they were accusing him of. He refused to give the interrogators anything but his name, rank, serial number and his birthday. They beat him up pretty good each day and he would not give in. They kept telling John that he will not recieve any medicial attention till he started answering their questions. He couldn't belive this and he believed that if he holded out for a while they would give in. During this time they gave him small bits of food and water. He could keep the water down but kept throwing the food back up. They wanted military information not political information. He wouldn't give in and this frustrated them.

He belives that on the forth day of being in prision two guards came in instead of one. They took the blanket off and one guard showed the other guard his knee. He said it was so swollen it was the size, color and shape of a football. Then he remembered that when he was a flying instructor a collegue had ejected himself from his plane and broken his thigh. He had gone into shock, the blood had pooled in his leg, and he died, which came as quite a surprise to us—a man dying of a broken leg. Then I realized that a very similar thing was happening to me. Then he relized that the same thing was happening to him. Then when he saw his knee like that he told a guard to get the officer. An officer came in a few minutes later. He was the guy they called "The bug" he was the psychotic torturer one of the worst that McCain had to deal with while in Vietnam. He said "O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital." He left and came back a few minutes later with a doctor who John calls "incompetent". He squatted down and took McCain's pulse. He didn't speak english. After he took his pulse he shook his head and said something to "the bug". John asked are u going to take me to the hospital? He said No its too late. Then John replied if you take me to the hospital I will get better. "Zorba" took my pulse again, and repeated, "It's too late." They got up and left, and I lapsed into unconsciousness. Sometime later, "The Bug" came rushing into the room, shouting, "Your father is a big admiral; now we take you to the hospital."He says he tells this story to make a point. The point is There were hardly any amputees among the prisoners who came back because the North Vietnamese just would not give medical treatment to someone who was badly injured—they weren't going to waste their time. For one thing, in the transition from the kind of life we lead in America to the filth and dirt and infection, it would be very difficult for a guy to live anyway. In fact, my treatment in the hospital almost killed me.

Heres the story of him in a hospital. He said that during the first 3-4 days in the hospital he woke up twice. The room wasn't small it was about 15 by 15; dirty as he** and that everytime it rained a half inch of rain would be on the floor. He almost never saw a doctor or a nurse and wasn't washed at all. When he did see a nurse or doctor they didn't speak english they spoke french. For a body guard he was assigned a 16 year old male right out of the rice fields. His favorite thing to do was read a book to the P.O.W that had a picture in it of a old man with his rifle in his hand and sitting on a fuselage of an F-105 which had been shot down. He then point to himself and laugh. After he was done laughing he would punch McCain. He had to feed John because his arms were still broken. He would come in with a cup that had noodles and some gristle in it, and fill a spoon and put it in my mouth. The gristle was very hard to chew. I'd get my mouth full after three or four spoonfuls, and I'd be chewing away on it. I couldn't take any more in my mouth, so he'd just eat the rest himself. I was getting about three or four spoonfuls of food twice a day. It got so that I kind of didn't give a damn—even though I tried as hard as I could to get enough to eat.

After being at the hospital for many days a "gook" (what we called the North Vietnamesse) came in who knew English very well. He asked me how I was doing? He said we have a frenchmen here visiting in Hanoi and is willing to take a message back to your family. He thought at the time what a great deal to tell them I am alive. At the time he admits being naive and that you get smarter when dealing with these people. He didn't know at the time but the Vietnamesse released McCain's name and started a huge propaganda splash and they were happy to catch "the crown prince".

A few hours after the meeting with the "gook" they took him on a strecher. They were trying

http://www.npc.navy.mil/NR/rdonlyres/330F85C7-5982-4B09-A46A-373964430AFB/0/Document.pdf

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/m/mccain-flag.htm

http://tinyurl.com/28nrbx

http://www.vietnamwar.com/johnmccainbio.htm

WHY I THINK GAS IS SO EXPENSIVE!!!

There are many reasons why Gas is so expensive. I have a friend who said that he knew somebody who drives truck for a living and is putting 600 dollars in fuel each time he fills up! that is outrageous. I don't agree with Barack Obama who said they are going to tax the crap out of the oil companies because all it will do in the end is come back and take a bite out of consumers back pocket. The problem comes down to that enviromentalist don't want us to built any new refiners and none have been built in the last 32 years. I don't know if they know about this yet but in Arizona they are building a new refinery. They might get mad but hopefully they won't get their way and try to shut down the first refinery that is being built in decades. It is under construction and will be in Arizona but won't start creating oil till 2011. It will add about 150,000 barrels of oil a day to our market. That will help us however, As I learned in high School its all about supply/demand. That oil will not last forever so we will have to drill for more oil right here in America that we could use that would help us get off foriegn oil ; Its a short term solution but we will have to find alternative resources to oil. We have oil in Alaska in AWAR where I have been told that most people are open to the idea to drill there. They don't have much of a economy but they do have alot of oil. This will not happen however, for the next 4 years because all of the presdiental candiates are against drilling there. Heres some reasons to support drilling in AWAR. Only 8% of AWAR would be open to drilling which is about 1.5 million acres. This would bring huge revenues to the state and Federal Treasury. Experts say it could bring between 152 and 237 billion dollars. It will create about a quarter million jobs (250,000) I would love to drill there. Who knows if and when we dig there we could find even more oil. I am sick and tired of bowing down at the alter of evil people like Hugo Chavez and the crazy Irani leader. We don't get most of our oil from Chavez but some of the oil. The number 1 country we get oil from is Canada and Mexico. Here is the full list

This is in thousands of barrels of oil (month)
Canada 1,776
Mexico 1,658
Saudi Arabia 1,256
Nigeria 1,163
Venezula 1,009
Angola 641
Iraq 572
Columbia 281
Kuwait 273

Bush said it best in his State of the Union adress in 2006; he said that America was addicted to oil. Here is the actual quote "Keeping America competitive requires affordable energy. Here we have a serious problem: America is addicted to oil, which is often imported from unstable parts of the world".

What we need as a world and a country is find out new alternative ways to end the need for oil. There are many ways to do this; we can use wood to give us energy but won't do much for us driving cars but we could make battery-driven cars. Could you image the money that could be made if someone could figure a new way to power a car. Like grass; wood, or wind power. It could be done and hopefully we will do this before its too late.

http://www.anwr.org/People/Alaskans-Support-Development.php

http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=12227
http://www.sacbee.com/103/story/200013.html
http://www.greencarcongress.com/2005/03/epa_approves_dr.html
http://www.anwr.org/People/Alaskans-Support-Development.php
http://www.anwr.org/ANWR-Basics/Top-ten-reasons-to-support-ANWR-development.php
http://abcnews.go.com/International/popup?id=1566549
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/01/31/sotu.transcript/

HELP SAVE DARFUR!!

We all heard the horrible stories of World War 2 with Hitler in Germany. He killed millions of jews and anybody else who he thought was not pure. We as the United States of America one of the greatest countries in the world stopped Hitler before he could have world domination. As a world community we should not accept genocide as a way of life. The world never thought that genocide would happen again but Saddam proved us wrong when in the late 80's he gased the kurds; in the end he got what was coming to him as he was hanged for all his evil atrocides against humans. Well guess what after Saddam there is more genocide that is happening in the world. The media has not talked about it very much. It is all over world newspapers but not in America. So I question how many americans know about the War and Genocide that is happening in Darfur.

The War in Darfur is a military conflict in the Darfur region of Western Sudan. Unlike the second Sudanesse Civil war the current lines of conflict are seen to be ethnic and tribal, rather than religious. One side of the armed conflict is the Sudanesse army and the Janjaweed, a milita group recruited mostly by the Arab Baggara tribes of the northern Rizeigat. On the other side of the conflict is the Sudan Liberation Movement and the Justice and Equality Movement. There is recruited primarily from the land-tilling non-Arab Fur, Zaghawa and the Massaleit ethic groups. The goverment of Sudan while they publicly denying that it supports the Janjaweed, has provided money and assistance to the militia and has participated in joint attacks targeting the tribes from which the rebels draw support. This war started in Febuary of 2003. The causes of this war is drought, desertification, and overpopulation. There are many different casualty counts but the United Nations says that it has left 400,000 people dead from disease and the war. The Sudanese government has suppressed information by jailing and killing witnesses since 2004 and tampered with evidence such as mass graves to eliminate their forensic values. We also can't get a good count because any media that tries to get in there is arrested. After the fighting just continued to get worst the United Nations tried to do something. What they did was the Security Council approved a resolution which called for 17,000 more ground troops. Obviously this is not working because the genocide is going on.

We can do something but its not guartneed to work but at least we can try. The international community must provide UNAMID peacekeepers with helicopters and other necessary equipment. We must pressure both the government of Sudan and the fractious rebel groups to get to the peace table. And until they reach a peace agreement, the nations of the world must impose strict travel sanctions and enforce arms embargos on both the government and rebel groups. If you want to donate to help the needy in Darfur go to http://www.savedarfur.org/page/content/dfd/

From Barack Obama's own website he said this about the Darfur conflict "Barack Obama has been a leading voice urging the Bush Administration to take stronger steps to end the genocide in Sudan. He worked with Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) to pass the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act. Obama has traveled to the United Nations to meet with Sudanese officials and visited refugee camps on the Chad-Sudan border to raise international awareness of the ongoing humanitarian disaster there. He also worked with Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) to secure $20 million for the African Union peacekeeping mission. Obama believes the United States needs to lead the world in ending this genocide, including by imposing much tougher sanctions that target Sudan?s oil revenue, implementing and helping to enforce a no-fly zone, and engaging in more intense, effective diplomacy to develop a political roadmap to peace. The international community must, over the Sudanese regime?s protests, deploy a large, capable UN-led and UN-funded force with a robust enforcement mandate to stop the killings".

Hillary Clinton and John McCain didn't have anything about Darfur.

In closing, When you think about how bad our economy is (I agree that economy is bad right now) and that our dollar is falling in value. Keep this in mind. 1 US Dollar equals 205 dollars in Sudan. For my Candian friends, 1 Candian dollar equals 203 CA dollars. Yes, we are in serious trouble with the economy however, we are alot luckier then most countries. Just keep that in mind. God Bless

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/africa/sudan/currency.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darfur_conflict
http://www.savedarfur.org/content?splash=yes
http://www.darfurgenocide.org/
http://www.johnmccain.com/
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/

Uncontrolled spending equals 9 trillion dollars in debt!

When you think of the 9 trillion dollars that the United States is in debt how many think its because of the war in Iraq and Afghanstan? Well thats not excatly true. What are congress people and senators do is before a bill or legislation is passed they attach pork projects to the bill. This is what is making our debt go higher and higher. Here are some of the things they attach to bills. According to Citizens Against Government Waste reported that during the year of 2007; congress added 11,670 projects to bills which was worth 17.2 billion dollars. The non-profit group mocked the House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., who added $3 million to the Defense bill for The First Tee, a youth golfing program. When questioned by a reporter on CNBC about the earmark, Clyburn suggested that teaching golf "helps you make generals and colonels." The First Tee earmark initially was removed by the House Appropriations Committee, but was added back into the bill, or "airdropped," in conference. In total the democrats recieved 55 percent of the pork-projects, Republicans recieved 44 percent and Independents 1 percent. This is a disgrace and we need to do something about this. However, the top 3 In fact, the top three senators in total earmark dollars all sit on the committee. Ranking member Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., received $892 million in earmarks; Stevens brought home $469 million; and Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., got $465 million. If you notice all 3 are from the Republican party. This is not a one party problem. All parties are responsible for this.

According to taxpayers.net for this year has goverment earmarks that equal 39 billion dollars. Barack Obama's total for earmark for this year already has $3,334,520 in pork-projects for the people of Illinois. With other members of the Senate he has spent $98,648,720. The worst out of the 3 presdiental hopefuls is New Yorks own Hillary Clinton she has $98,000 by herself but with other senators she has the most with totaling over a billion dollars at $1,209,611,755. With this total last night I watched a speech where she accused Presdient Bush of the 9 trillion dollar in debt where she has 1 billion dollars just this year. Yes, Presdient Bush could of vetoed those bills but he didn't. John McCain said if he was elected presdient he would end all earmarks. Lets just see if he has ever supported any pork-spending. According to the same website I used for Hillary and Barack he has no money for pork-projects. So i do believe that he will veto every bill that has a pet-project in it.

First there was the bridge to nowhere now there is a earmark to nowhere. The project is a 10 million dollar interchange between I-75 and Coconut Road in Lee County, Florida. Local officials did not request it but it was added to the 2005 Transportation Bill, reportedly by someone who worked for Rep. Don Young (R-AK). It was one earmark among 6,300 earmarks in the massive $286 billion highway bill signed into law three years ago. But something extraordinary happened with this earmark. In the bill that Congress passed, the project was to widen I-75. But in the bill that went to the president, that project had been mysteriously deleted and replaced with "Coconut Rd. interchange I-75/Lee County.” The difference between the two projects is dramatic. The original I-75 earmark for widening the highway would have provided broad public benefits, but as changed, would fund a project that would benefit a small constituency and provide narrow public benefits. Its stuff like that it proofs that things need to be change.

I am not going to lie; the Iraq war has been costly. The only difference it has not cost as much as you might think. The war as of April 21st 2008 at 4:16 pm CST cost $513,162,310,171. That is alot of money however, remember that our national debt is 9,377,018,755,931.37. I know the Iraq war was very costly and to tell you the truth; I never ever thought we would be still there in 2008. We cannot leave early because not only would we be losing everything that we have successfully done there but those men would of died in vain. I think about the soldiers who died for my and my countries freedom but their sacrifice should never ever be forgot. GOD BLESS AMERICA!! LETS BRING THE TROOPS HOME WITH A VICTORY! I believe its still possible....

http://www.govexec.com/dailyfed0408/040208rb1.htm
http://www.taxpayer.net/budget/fy08earmarks/databases/finalnumbers.xls
http://www.taxpayer.net/budget/fy08earmarks/databases/membernumbers.xls
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,266348,00.html
http://www.taxpayer.net/TCS/wastebasket/transportation/2008-04-18coconutroad.html
http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar_home
http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

OUR TROOPS DESERVE FREE COLLAGE EDUCATION!!!

I voted for Bush in 2004 and still believe in the mission that we are doing in Iraq and Afghanstan. I know that these wars aren't popular but our presdient understands that we need to do this for the future of our great country. There is a bill in the Senate and in the house that would allow our troops to have a free education. Not very often do we have both sides agree on something. I am glad that Republicans and Democrats alike can agree to give this life-changing oppurtinuty to our men and women who bravely serve our country. My 2 senators from my homestate of Indiana support this bill if you want to check if your house or senate members support this bill click on the link below and it will take you to the site. I am very disapointed that not all my represives in the house have not signed on. Indiana only has 2 house members. I will be writing them encoruging them to sign on to this very imporant bill.

This is not the first time that they have given troops free education. In 1944 Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed a bill that gave 8 million compact vetrens the oppurtinuty to further their education after they served in World War 2. Back then it was called the "Servicemen’s Readjustment Act,” the bill covered tuition, fees, and books, and gave veterans a living stipend while they were in school. I would have to say that Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, Senators Bob Dole and Patrick Moynihan, and authors Norman Mailer and Frank McCourt all relied on the GI Bill and wouldn't of made it to be as successful if it wasn't for FDR. Today 1.5 million troops are returning from the most imporant war since World War 2 to a different future then Roosevelt would of wanted. In addition, structural problems and bureaucratic delays discourage veterans from using their GI Bill benefits. National Guardsmen and Reservists, including those who have served multiple combat tours, typically receive only a fraction of their GI Bill benefits. Moreover, 30% of troops who pay the nonrefundable $1,200 contribution do not end up using the GI Bill at all. These veterans have paid the government $230 million, but received nothing in return.

This is sick and we owe them and should give them anything they want or need. So lets do the right thing and support this bill.

http://www.gibill2008.org/state.html

CHINA SHOULD FREE TIBET!!!

With the Olympics just around the corner and it being in China this year its a good opprotuinty to bring up the human rights that are being violated in China. There has been a lot of protest from around the world about the Olympics being there. Hillary Clinton has even called on our presdient to boycott the Olympic games. To me this will not solve anything the Chinese goverment will just look at that like ok like thats a big deal NOT! The Prime Minister of Britian Gordon Brown announced he is not going to the opening of the olympics this summer so this will put pressure on Bush not to go. I will be very surprised to see if he doesn't go. I think he will go.

This issue between the Chinesse and the Tibets have been going on for centries. Most people in China still consider Tibet to be part of China. However, this couldn't be farther from the truth. They declared their independence from China back in the year 821. This ended almost 200 years of fighting that a treaty engraved on three stone pillars, one of which still stands in front of the Jokhang cathedral in Lhasa. The treaty states: Both Tibet and China shall keep the country and frontiers of which they are now possessed. The whole region to the East of that being the country of Great China and the whole region to the West being assuredly the country of Great Tibet, from either side there shall be no hostile invasion, and no seizure of territory... and in order that this agreement establishing a great era when Tibetans shall be happy in Tibet and Chinese shall be happy in China shall never be changed, the Three Jewels, the body of Saints, the sun and the moon, planets and stars have been invoked as witness. During the 13th and 14th centries Tibet and China were captured and were under the influence of the Mongol empire. China today claims that during that time they became one country by the Mongols domination of the two countries. You also have to remember that this domination by the Mongols was the biggest in world history even today. They had all of Asia and remember that the respective relationships between the Mongols, Tibetans, Mongols and Chinese must be examined. These two relationships were not only radically different in nature, but they also started and ended at different times. Tibet came under Mongol influence before Kublai Khan's conquest of China and regaining complete independence from the Mongols several decades before China regained its independence. In 1911 the CHO-YON relationship came to its final end with the fall of the Manchu Dynasty. Tibet formally declared its Independence in 1912 and continued to conduct itself as a fully sovereign nation until its invasion by Communist China an 1949. During WW2 Tibet remained neutral even though they were getting major pressure from China, US and England. They however, did allow stuff to go thru Tibet which helped the allies beat the Nazi's. Today by international law they are a free country under illegal occupation.

Even though they are a free nation there is some major human rights violations going on in Tibet and in Communist China. They excute more people in China then anywhere else in the world. In 2005 they excuted 1,770 people (average about 3.2 people a day). In the USA we have only excuted 1,099 people since 1976. Some people call our country barbaic but just look at China. I personally am for the death pently however, it should only be used for the most cruesome murders. There are even some organ harvesting like they had on Star Trek Voyager. In 2006 two witnesses inside the communist state have stated that they have started to harvest people who were still alive and sell them on the black market. These people were accused of some crime because they were in jail however, they are human beings and should be treated like Human. On April 14th 2006 the US Deptment of State reported that during its investigation stating that: "U.S. representatives have found no evidence to support allegations that [Sujiatun] has been used as a concentration camp to jail Falun Gong practitioners and harvest their organs. I don't believe our goverment and this is for the very reason that I was against the removal of Terri Schivo's feeding tube. This is the very beginning of this coming to America with this ruling. At first I didn't want the goverment to step in however, I changed my mind when Sean Hannity did a report on how sick her husband was. He just wanted her dead to get the money and to get a new wife. How sick!!! She was still alive. I am very pro-life and now the BBC is reporting that they are taking healthy human babies and killing them just for their stem-cells. I am furious that this can happen in this world. I like the quote "A society is judged by how they treat the newborn and the elderly". I see a future where if you become to hard to take care of they will just kill you off. This is sad but its coming soon to America. China just do the right thing and Free Tibet.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibet
http://www.friends-of-tibet.org.nz/occu.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_the_People
http://www.clarkprosecutor.org/html/death/usexecute.htm
http://www.math.com/students/calculators/source/basic.htm
http://www.prolifeblogs.com/articles/archives/2006/12/human_harvestin.php

THE WOMEN OF IRAQ

There was a CNN Special Investigation Unit on this weekend about the women of Iraq. In this special they met Iraqi women they were different age, background and even what side they are supporting. The first women was from Sadr City Iraq where she is homeless because of her husbands death. She says she should of went and lived with her family however, she couldn't because they told her to live there she had to give up her 2 kids. Any normal mom would say no and that is what she did. So now she is living in a abandoned building. All the woman has is God and the Mehdi Army. The Army comes and visits her a couple times a week and gives her money and rations. There are over 2 million people that are displaced in Iraq.

The next place that they go is where women work in the oldest profession known. PROSTITUTION. She says that this is the only way that her kids will be able to eat. What a sad sitution that you would have to sell your body to get money. It works different then in the United States and other countries in the world. Its very settle approach. A simple way to explain it is they go to the market, they get a phone call and right away if you are friendly they know you do this kinda of work. They go to certin buildings or homes. This comes with big risk because if they are caught by Iraqi security forces they will be killed. She thinks what if my husband finds out? Even though I don't do it every day of the week, it's like I'm a thief. You do it because you can get away with it. The same scenario. I think about it and I say God willing, let me rid myself of this before he finds out. I don't imagine that a woman who has what she needed to survive would do this. Impossible. We were not born into this to know such things. Until the fall of 2003, after that, until the circumstance forced us. Now when you show her the money, she goes after him, in all honesty because she has to.

They don't have to anything they don't want to. There is a women who is from Canada who helps Iraqi women. She is part of the ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN'S FREEDOM IN IRAQ
and her name is YANAR MOHAMMED. She talks to CNN and tells them while cooking breakfest that they should celebrate that they got electricity that day. When she and 2 other women started this organization the thing that brought us together was that we are progressive women who believe that freedoms of women can happen only under secular situations. And we thought of ourselves as the avant- garde women of the society and we started it from there. They feel that the only hope is in the youth. And that's why we are holding an event where we bring youth from so-called Sunni and Shiite areas and we just let them improvise poetry. They are a watchgroup that is making sure that women of Iraq are getting freedoms that they deserve.

However, in this CNN special they neglated to talk about the good signs that are coming out of Iraq for women. The bias moveon.org media doesn't want you to know that 25% of all the people in the Iraqi parliment are women. When before the US invaded they didn't have any women in politics. “I would like to run for parliament,” says a young female City Council member from Mosul. “I would like to be involved in politics, but I fear it would be too dangerous.” Many of Iraq’s well-educated women remain scared, which means that a great human resource in Iraq cannot reach its full potential until the security situation improves. When members of the US congress asked a a delgation of Iraqi women what they thought of the US invading Iraq their response was "what took you so long"? I knew that they wanted us to invade to help them.

In conclusion I would like the troops to be out of there as soon as possible. We all know that we cannot leave because if we do there will be chaos.

http://www.heritage.org/Press/Commentary/ed072804a.cfm
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0803/15/siu.01.html
http://www.heritage.org/Research/MiddleEast/HL793.cfm

What about Bob Jackson for presdient 2008?

I know that more then likely you never heard of Bob Jackson. He is running for presdient and is part of the libertatian party. He was born on September 23rd 1939. He has had many jobs throughout his life. He has done the following jobs: reporter, quality control, worked at a Philadelphia Navy Yard, welding, and now he is a teacher. I didn't go thru all his jobs if want to see the entire list go to http://bobjackson.org/biography.aspx. He got his BA and MA Education from Western Michgan Unviersty. He also served as a boy scout and in the US military.

What Mr. Jackson believes is that Congress has far exceeded the power granted by the Constitution and Congress will continue to grow under Democrats and Republicans alike. I do agree with him on that...

On energy he believes Both Democrats and Republicans are using tax dollars on the promotion of Ethanol as a significant fuel for the future. It makes no sense attacking the food supply when so many in the world do not have enough to eat. Most importantly there is more fossil fuel energy required to make ethanol than ethanol energy produced. Cornell University has summarized this net loss of energy as the following, Turning plants such as corn, soybeans, and sunflowers into fuel takes more energy then the resulting ethonal or biodiseal generates according to a new study. In terms of energy output for ethenoal production the study found that corn requires 29% more fossil energy then fuel produced; wood biomass 57% more then fossil energy then fuel produced. Bob has a plan for fusion reactor development. 1/ Ambient temperature superconductive material makes this feasable.2/ Fusion energy generation is the best potential for American leadership and profit for world energy solutions.3/ Our government has subcontracted this important research to the French and is paying them 1 billion dollars to get the French in a leadership role. 4/ Fusion energy is totally non-poluting and environment friendly.Fast breeder reactors and a means to dispose of the waste. Linear gun to the sun, etc.

For Defense Bob says that the constitution provides that the defense of the country is the prime responsibility for the federal government. However, it needs to be emphasized that a functional federal government and sufficient energy to support a high standard of living are actually more important. There is no need to aggressively defend a country that has no effective government and a low standard of living. America is the strongest and most powerful country in the world. He is not saying this is a bad thing but America has made a few mistakes according to Bob. He thinks The US can not and should not be the policemen for the world. But in that respect we cannot let the UN dictate what we do. Make no mistake - America, along with many other countries, are at war with extremist Moslem terrorists and we are losing the war by a death of a thousand cuts. Bob has a plan for the War on Terror. A Libertarian president can work with the congress to get a constitutionally compliant declaration of war. This declaration will define the enemy and war terms. The president will the execute the war. See Bob's issue item "Dysfunctional Govt" for how Bob can uniquely work with Congress as the Constitution requires. As for Iraq he thinks that A Libertarian president can work with the congress to get a constitutionally compliant declaration of war. This declaration will define the enemy and war terms. The president will the execute the war. See Bob's issue item "Dysfunctional Govt" for how Bob can uniquely work with Congress as the Constitution requires.America's foreign policy should be based on free trade among all nations and not military intimidation. Do unto other countries as we want other countries to do unto us. Restructure the military to meet current and future needs.

On Immigration he believes we should seal the border and enforce the laws we already have.

http://bobjackson.org/default.aspx

Legitimate questions about people associated with Barack Obama

As many of you know Barack and Hillary are neck to neck in the presdiental election of 2008. It will probley go to the national convention. Well there might be some history behind Barack Obama that the main stream media will not tell you. I myself for a while thought of Barack as the lesser-of-two-evils between him and his rival Hillary Clinton. Not anymore. He is MORE dangerous then that clown Mrs Clinton. He has ties with a terrorist group called the Weather Underground. I never heard of this group before but they were radical people who hated their country. It all started in the 1960's when Bernadine Dohrn who was the leader started the group on the campus of Michgan Unviersty. They basically formed to oppose the Vietnam War and the civil rights movement. They basically split apart after all the troops were pulled out. However, they formed again in 1970 following a police raid that killed a pink panther member. They formed to tell the US goverment that like Al-Qata that they were at war with them and would kill in cold blood. Does this sound familar? 9/11? Terrorist on that day tried to take a plane and hit the US captial. Well 30 years before that this group tried to blow it up as well. They messed up and 2 of their members ended up killing themselfs by accident. They also tried to attack Barack's hometown Chicago's Gold Coast and showdown with the hated Daley police force, was a case in point. Planned for October 1969, the event wound up drawing not the expected thousands but just a couple hundred militants. As the motley gang assembled before a bonfire, Bill Ayers, a Weatherman leader, recalls in the film that he was overcome by a "secret feeling that someone would come rescue us from what we were about to do." If only. They proceeded to wreak random violence in the Chicago streets and get arrested en masse. The main results: They alienated themselves from potential allies like the Black Panthers and furnished Richard Nixon with cheap ammunition for his rhetorical assaults on anti-war protesters. Then the next year they tried to bomb Fort. Dix where there was going to be a dance. The bomb which was meant for people who were fighting for their freedom went off accidently blowing up the Greenwich Village town house where its violence-drunk manufacturers were living. Three of them were killed. They went underground and started blowing up empty buildings. Well why this is imporant is that Barack Obama. In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. This is a direct quote from Barack Obama…“I can remember being one of a small group of people who came to Bill Ayers’ house to learn that Alice Palmer was stepping down from the senate and running for Congress,” said Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician and advocate for single-payer health care, of the informal gathering at the home of Ayers and his wife, Dohrn. “[Palmer] identified [Obama] as her successor.” Then after 9/11 Ayers (former member of the Weather Underground said this "I don't regret setting bombs; I feel we didn't do enough,” Ayers told the New York Times in 2001. Didn't do enough? Wow. I wouldn't be friends or hang out at the persons house if he said something like that. Heres some more times that we know of that they spend time together. In November 1997, Ayers and Obama participated in a panel at the University of Chicago entitled Should a child ever be called a “super predator?” to debate “the merits of the juvenile justice system”.

What about Barack's lovely wife Michelle Obama? I had nothing against her when I first learned who she was but after this comment I changed my mind. Hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback, and let me tell you something, for the first time in my adult lifetime I`m really proud of my country. First time you are ever pround of your country? How can you say that with all the good that America has done!! I am outraged at this comment and lost all respect I had for her. She has a right to say what she wants but it just shows how arrogant she truly is.
To keep talking about Mrs. Obama she in her senior thesis about racial division. She said "“I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don’t belong. Regardless of the circumstances under which I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second.” Yes i will give her that there is still racism in the world; However, most people my generation our very open to people that might be different then past generations. I hope that you get the point that I am trying to make. In my opinion, she is a very arrogant non-pround American.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0802/25/gb.01.html

http://stoptheaclu.com/archives/2006/03/06/terrorist-employed-by-aclu/

http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/john-stephenson/2008/02/23/will-media-ignore-obamas-terrorist-ties

http://www.slate.com/id/2084009/

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/640115/is_michelle_obama_racist_.html

http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=1182

WHY I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR SENATOR MCCAIN!!

John McCain is a war hero but most conservatives will never vote for him. I do not consider myself a conservative but I will not vote for him either. There are many reasons why I can't vote for him. The biggest problem I have with him is that he wanted the 12 million illegal immagrants that were here in the United States to get a path to citzenship. This bill was sponsered by John McCain and Ted Kennedy. He says he changed his view and will secure the border first but i don't trust him and think he is just saying this so he can become presdient.

The next problem that I have with the senator from Arizona is he wanted to bring back the fairness Doctorine. It was created in 1949 and then in 1984 the Superme Court ruled that the scarcity rationale underlying the doctrine did not apply to expanding communications. It was then scraped by the great Ronald Reagen in 1987. After that happened Rush Limbagh came to the scene in 1989. With this doctorine you have to have a equal-time rule that TV and Radio must broadcast stations must provide an equivalent opportunity to any opposing political candiates. Liberals want to bring it back because they can not compete with talk radio. They have tried and failed with Air America. This is a dangerous idea because it is cutting off the 1st amendment to the constition and if radio stations have to have liberals and conservatives on. This might sound like a good idea but it truly is not a idea. Radio stations have advertisments to sponsor their programs and if nobody listens then the advertisments will drop. This will cause the end of talk radio. Yes i will admit that talk radio leans Republican HOWEVER, liberals have all the news channel minus Foxnews. Will they let conservatives on CNN or MSNBC I don't think so.

The next problem I have with McCain is he worked with Russ Feingold to pass Campaign finance reform. This is a McCain tried to limit the role of money in politics with measures that, critics say, stomp on the constitutional right to free speech. This is the reason that Newt Gingrich decided not to run for presdient. If he would of ran for presdient him and his people of Solutions for America could of went to jail.

Tax Cuts McCain twice voted against President Bush's tax cuts, saying in 2001 they helped the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and in 2003 that there should be no tax relief until the cost of the Iraq war was known. But he now wants to extend the tax cuts. I am sorry again I do not believe him.

He believes in Al Gore's hysteria. Yeah thats right he believes in Global Warming. McCain and Liberman have a bill that is advocating that the United States have mandatory limit or "cap" on greenhouse gas emissions. The McCain-Lieberman bill would require certain industrial sectors to collectively reduce emissions through a system of buying and selling pollution credits, known as a "cap and trade" approach that worked successfully to reduce acid rain. Experts believe this will rise gas prices by 50 cents. It also doesn't call for any other country to limit their greehouse gases. Yes we do have the highest pollution rate but China is closely coming in 2nd. I do agree that it would be good to cut down on emissions but not alone. I wish liberals and people who believe in Global Warming the world goes thru cycles. Heres the top 5 countries.

Country Annual CO2 emissionsin (thousands of metric tons) Percent of world
United States 6,049,435 22.2%
China 5,010,170 18.4%
European Union 3,115,125 11.4%
Russia 1,524,993 5.6%
India 1,342,962 4.9%

The Republican nominee also doesn't want to drill for oil in Alaska. We need to drill for our own oil so we don't have to depend on crazy dictators or terrorists for our oil. Here is a direct quote from the Senator "As far as ANWR is concerned, I don’t want to drill in the Grand Canyon, and I don’t want to drill in the Everglades. This is one of the most pristine and beautiful parts of the world. Yes i do have to agree with him that its beautiful but according to the Governor of Alaska says it won't damage it. The reason it won't completely destroy they would use only 2,000 acres of the 20 million acres. It would give Americans 1.6 million barrels of oil per day and create jobs.

The next issue I have with the war hero is that he opposes getting rid of the Death Tax. After paying years and years of paying taxes why should you pay Uncle Sam again? I think this is wrong.

He has been good with the war effort but he opposes Guantanamo Bay. I have to scratch my head and wonder why? We don't want these sorry excuse for human beings in our country so where else can we put them? He says he wants to close Guantanamo but doesn't have a solution on where these people would go?

Now i got all my problems with John McCain out there; now its time to talk about the good things he has done. Conservatives are going to disagree with me on the first two issues I am going to throw out there. First he opposes a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. I have to agree with him because I think it should be up to the states to decide not the federal goverment. In 2004 he broke away from Republicans and said it was anti-Republican to want a constitutional amendment. He then said this "The constitutional amendment we're debating today strikes me as antithetical in every way to the core philosophy of Republicans," McCain said. "It usurps from the states a fundamental authority they have always possessed and imposes a federal remedy for a problem that most states do not believe confronts them." The next issue I agree with him that will get people mad is that he works with the other side? I think that is a good thing because in our democracy you can not get things done if you don't compromise. However, its a two way street if he works with Democrats on lets say Global Warming then the Democrats should have to work with him on lets say the War on Terror. But this doesn't happen. Also, if he wins the presdiency I think that conservatives should be able to have John's ear like Democrats have his ear. The last issue that I agree with him is the War on Terror. He's been such a big supporter for the troops and their mission. He knows what it is like to be on the front lines and is a true American.

In closing, I would vote for him if I had only a few problems with John McCain. As you can see I have many problems with him. He would be much better for America then Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton but many conservatives and myself will have major problems voting for him. He cannot and will not win the presdiency because of this. I myself going to do something I never thought I would do. That is NOT VOTE.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comprehensive_Immigration_Reform_Act_of_2007

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal-time_rule

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hqIRljRZvoE6xi6uIpLsxix6UejwD8UM1VV80

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=22654

http://climate.weather.com/promo/hotList_McCain-Lieberman.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions

http://holycoast.blogspot.com/2008/01/mccain-opposes-drilling-in-anwr.html

http://billhobbs.com/hobbsonline/003577.html

Just another Democrat!!!

Nancy Pelosi who I have to tell her congrats on being the first women speaker in the history of teh United States. However; Nancy Pelosi is just like every other democrat who wants to stab our troops in the back. In my opinion she doesn't want us to succeed in Iraq. We don't have 1 Republican who has said anything negative about our troops. They have invested in defeat in Iraq and they have set it up in a way that if we win in Iraq it will be bad for them politically. What a side to be on If your country loses a war that we have to win its bad for them. How patriotic. Heres the lastest statement by a Democrat and it is from our Speaker Nancy Pelosi “The purpose of the surge was to create a secure time for the government of Iraq to make the political change to bring reconciliation to Iraq,” Pelosi said on CNN’s “Late Edition.” “They have not done that.” Wow!Hey Nancy you better get your facts right; troop deaths and casulaties are down; Iraqi citizens deaths are down; and Al-Qata deaths are down. What this could mean is that just like news articles that state Al-Qaeda leaders admit: 'We are in crisis. There is panic and fear'. They are on the run. This is good for America. In the letters that were seized says that they once had a force of 600 people now its down to 20. So there are less people to kill. We cannot leave yet however, we should start pulling out troops slowly. If u want to believe this or not its your business.

If that is not enough proof; what if I told u that both sides of the Iraqi goverement met at a Baghdad Hotel with other leaders from around the arab world? yeah thats right. They met on the last Sunday in January. The purpose of the meeting was to develop long-term strategies for fostering Iraqi reconciliation, as well as a region-wide sense of unity among the followers of the different sects of the same sacred religion. The gathering may have seemed to many like a mere symbolic gesture, and indeed it attracted almost no coverage by the Western media. But when it comes to matters of faith, the strength of symbolism cannot be underestimated, and even the mere image of Iraqi Sunni and Shiite Muslims praying side by side at the conference on Sunday sent a powerful message of unity to the people of Iraq and beyond. It may of taken many years and decades but it has been done.

If we fail in Iraq not only will it put us in MORE DANGER hundreds of thousands of innoncent Iraqis will be killed. People compare this war in Iraq to our involvment in Vietnam which we could of won if we didn't leave. No i don't think she would accept the facts because she and her fellow democrats have invested in failing in Iraq. If America fails in Iraq it will be great for the DEMOCRATIC PARTY! That is sad but I honestly believe this. This is why I believe that Nancy Pelosi is just another Democrat! God Bless America and I pray for our future when either Barack or Hillary get into the White House.

http://mpinkeyes.wordpress.com/2008/02/11/nancy-pelosi-ignores-the-facts-and-claims-the-surge-is-a-failure/
http://www.iraqupdates.com/p_articles.php/article/26969
http://icasualties.org/oif/US_chart.aspx
http://icasualties.org/oif/IraqiDeathsByYear.aspx
http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/12/02/iraq.death.toll/index.html
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article3346386.ece

Why I think the tax rebates by our presdient is a BAD idea

As many of my friends know I do support and agree with the president about 80 percent of the time. I will not agree with our Democratic Congress on this either. The two sides for a change have come to an agreement which could give the American people 850 billion dollars in tax rebates. The question is where is this money going to come from? Its going to put us more in debt with other countries. According to http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article1571.html we owe 600 billion dollars to Japan, 400 billion to China, owe our friend the United Kingdom 125 billion dollars. We also owe like 25 countries more then a billion dollars. We need to start taking down this debt because if we don't its just going to be worse for our future generations.

The best idea to stimulate the economy is to cut taxes accross the board! To explain, let's take a step back. By definition, an economy grows when it produces more goods and services than it did the year before. In 2007, Americans produced $13 trillion worth of goods and services, up 3 percent over 2006.Economic growth requires four main factors: 1) a motivated, educated and trained workforce; 2) sufficient levels of capital equipment and technology; 3) a solid infrastructure and 4) a legal system and rule of law sufficient to enforce contracts. It will not work because people are getting something for nothing to recieve the tax rebates no one has to work, save, invest or create any new wealth to receive a rebate. Our goverment both Republican and Democratic leaders think this will inject money into the economy. What they and most Americans don't understand is that every dollar that government rebates "inject" into the economy must first be taxed or borrowed out of the economy (and even money borrowed from foreigners brings a reduction in net exports). No new spending power is created. It is merely redistributed from one group of people to another.

The good thing about these tax rebates is it cuts taxes for businesses. Bonus depreciation," which allows companies to rapidly deduct qualified investment from their tax liability, makes new investment opportunities more profitable and attractive. This provision would increase business investment, which would create jobs and strengthen the economy. What would be even better is to extend Bush's tax cuts from 2003 which liberals are pushing to stop the cuts. One of the key components of the package is a targeted rebate that is refundable against payroll taxes. Proponents of rebates believe that people would quickly spend their rebates, thus providing a short-term boost to consumption and the economy. However, traditional economic theory holds that rebates have limited impact unless recipients believe their permanent income will increase. The rebate would also do little to change incentives to work or invest; thus, it would not be effective in boosting long-term economic growth. Tax rebates and similar cash transfers don’t stimulate the economy. The federal government cannot just wish new purchasing power into existence. The government must borrow the funds for the rebates, which means either less money available for investment or an increase in the trade deficit.

http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article1571.html

http://author.heritage.org/Research/Economy/wm1778.cfm

http://www.heritage.org/Research/Economy/wm1776.cfm

Why the US needs to have people show ID'S when they vote

I really do believe that the United States needs to take up Indiana's ID law to be able to vote. In 2004, when I voted for George W. Bush; this law was in effect and had to show my ID to vote. I had no problem with this because it was a guarantee that I was who I said I was. Wow! What a disgrace that I had to actually prove that I was indeed Shawn Holmgren. <rolling>

Anyway, the elderly women who started the controversey saying that the law hurts older Hoosiers from voting is actually registered to vote in 2 states. Faye Buis-Ewing who is 72 years old who says she is been a resdient of Indiana for 50 years. She told the media from her home in Florida that during the winter she lives there but comes home for Summer in Indiana. I do understand that because my grandparents do the same thing. Anyway, the Florida-Indianan resdient admitted that she registered to vote in both states however, claims that she never voted in Florida. She also says that when she tried to vote in 2006 Elections in her home state of Indiana and they wouldn't let her. Indiana's Secretery of State Todd Rokita said that this story is the reason why we need this law to protect people from fraud and identy theft. In 2005, Indiana passed a law requiring Hoosiers to present photo identification when they vote in person on Election Day, or when they cast a ballot in person at a county clerk’s office prior to Election Day. Voters without an ID may cast a provisional ballot, then bring an ID back to their county clerk or election board within 10 days. The law does not apply to those voting absentee or to citizens whose polling place is in a state-licensed care facility where the voter resides. Proponents of the law, including Rokita, believe it will better protect Hoosiers from voter fraud and identity theft. Critics say it unfairly burdens the poor, elderly and members of certain faiths, such as Amish. Three States: Indiana, Georgia, and Florida have ID laws but Indianas is the strickest in America. In 2005 (I thought it was 2004 because i had to show ID to vote for Bush) anyway Indiana passed a law requiring Hoosiers to present photo identification when they vote in person on Election Day, or when they cast a ballot in person at a county clerk’s office prior to Election Day. Voters without an ID may cast a provisional ballot, then bring an ID back to their county clerk or election board within 10 days. The law does not apply to those voting absentee or to citizens whose polling place is in a state-licensed care facility where the voter resides. Critics say it unfairly burdens the poor, elderly and members of certain faiths, such as Amish.

I have liberal friends who said this "that poor and/or elderly and/or minorities often don't have them, because they may not have cars or the money to obtain an ID, or the means to travel to get an ID. It's a poll tax, pure and simple. I said Voter ID laws disenfranchise the poor(and the elderly) disproportionately, and I believe it's an effort to make sure they don't vote, because these groups tend to vote more frequently for Democrats" I would like to answer and relief some of your worry. Heres some of the documents that you need to vote in Indiana. You need (1) Primary Document and (1) Secondary Document; you also need One (1) Proof of Indiana Residency Document. (A Primary or Secondary Document may also meet the Indiana residency requirement as long as the applicant's name and correct address are shown on the document). If u don't like that here is another thing that proves you live in Indiana and you are a legal resident of America. This is imporant because we have an estimate 30 million illegal immagrats. Here is a list of some of the Primary Documents

*ONE IS REQUIRED
United States Birth Certificate with stamp or seal issued from:
*County Department or County Board of Health Vital Records/Statistics Division from the applicant's State of birth
*State Department or State Board of Health Vital Records/Statistics Division from the applicant's State of birth
*U.S. State Department
United States Territories - American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands (translation may be required)
*For more information on how to obtain your Indiana birth certificate please see the Indiana Department of Health website or the Department of Health from the state where you were born.

Certification of Report of Birth DS-1350
U.S. Consular Report of Birth FS-240
U.S. Certificate of Naturalization/Citizenship

Here some of the Primary Documents
*ONE IS REQUIRED

Bank Statement
Certified Academic Transcript
Confirmation of Registration Letter from an Educational Institution
Court documentation with stamp or seal in applicant's name
Foreign Consulate-Issued ID Card
Government-Issued License or ID Card
Hoosier RX Plan Card w/imprinted name
Hoosier Works Card w/imprinted name
Indiana County Pre-sentence Investigation Report with clerk stamp or seal
Indiana Gun Permit (Valid)
Indiana Probation Photo ID Card
Indiana Professional/Occupational license (Valid)
Indiana BMV Title Application w/BMV Valid Stamp
Indiana BMV Title or Registration (Valid)
Insurance Card, Medicare or Medicaid card
*Letter from Probation Officer or county caseworker on letterhead stationary, certified with court or county stamp or seal with the applicant's name, and signature of the probation officer
*Major Credit or Bank Card (MC, VISA, AE, and Discover ONLY) (Valid)
Original Out-of-State Driver Record
Out-of-State Driver License, Identification Card or Permit with photograph
Pay Check Stub - Computer generated
Prison Release Documentation/Photo ID
School Report Card
School Photo ID Card
Selective Service Acknowledgment Card-SSS Form 3A
*U.S. Divorce Decree certified by court of law with stamp or seal
*U.S. Application of Marriage/Record of Marriage (Certified copy.) I think that even poor and people over the age of 65 could still vote just show one of each!! Even if u can't here is what you can do. For people aged 65 and up who don't have a birth certificate?
Individuals who are 65 years or older, and attest that they have never been issued a Birth Certificate because their birth was never recorded with any State Office of Vital Statistics, may present other forms of identification as a primary document, along with the secondary document, for an Indiana driver license or identification card.
Individuals who are 65 years or older may present, as primary documents:
Medicaid/Medicare Card
Social Security Benefits Statement
Property Deed
Property Tax Statement
Bank Statements
US Veteran's Access Photo ID Card
Marriage/Divorce Decree
Pension Statement
Please note that Secondary Documents, and other documents proving residency, are still required for most transactions. For more information on acceptable documents of identification, please consult the Indiana Identification Documentation List

If u don't have a ID they have to give you an ID to vote free of charge....

The next argument that my friend has is that its against the 24th Amendment. The 24th adendment states that
Section 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax.
Section 2. The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
sorry my friend I don't think this is a poll tax because they are giving out ID's for free to people who can prove that they are legal US residents and Indiana resdients. They also are giving many many options for people to vote

In every election back as far as 1960 both sides Republicans and Democrats both did fraud during presdiental elections. In 1960 both sides did fraud during that election between JFK and Richard Nixion. Then the crazy stuff that happened in Florida in 2000. I still believe to this day that both sides did fraud during that election. Who knows who would of won that election. That was the first presdiental election I really paid 100% attention to. I was 15 years old and at the tine I only thought that Gore cheated but as I look back I think maybe the presdient we had also cheated. Wouldn't it be nice to have elections be not 100% fair but as close to 100% as we ever get. That would be awesome. I thank God everyday that Bush did because he might not of done everything right in the last 8 years but did a better job then Gore would of done.

http://www.in.gov/sos/photoid/how.html
http://www.in.gov/sos/photoid/birthcert.html

http://www.kpcnews.com/articles/2008/01/09/news/today/evening_star/doc478441f2313a5420740819.txt
http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2008/01/14/080114ta_talk_toobin/

http://www.in.gov/sos/photoid/checklist.html

Has Abortions really gone up since George W. Bush been in white House?

All my liberal friends always bring this subject up when talking about abortion. That the presdient who is sitting in the White House right now since he took office in January of 2001 more abortions have happened. After looking it up on the net it is the case. All my liberal friends were wrong I was not surprised because he is a pro-life presdient and would do anything in his power to stop abortions if he could. What I think should be done is have them know that there are other options like adoption and make sure they know excatly what they are doing to their innoncent bundle of joy. The I would reverse Roe Vs Wade which made abortion legal here in the us of a. When you do that it will be up to the states to decide to have abortion or not and I think maybe one-fifth of the states would outlaw abortion. As much as I hate abortion (unless womens life is in danger or rape) I don't want the federal Goverment to ban it.

According to http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/ab-unitedstates.html The first recorded abortion in the USA was in 1930 there was 2 abortions. The following year it went up to 48 abortions then it continued to rise little by little till 1971 what happened that year? thats right The Supreme Court ruled that in one of the greatest countries of all time it was ok to kill innoncent babies that did nothing wrong. Most of these parents don't want to take responsibiltiy for the consquences of having sex instead lets just kill something innoncent. Fast Forward I go to the year 2000 when Bill Clinton was still in the White House and there was 1,312,990 abortions. Look at George W. Bush's first 345 days in the White House it went DOWN yes down to 1,303,000 thats 1,303,000 to many but it did go down by 9,000 abortions. As Mr. Bush's years went by the less abortions there were.

I found a web page that "Half of all US women having abortions have had at least one other abortion". Yes this is from a study from the Alan Guttmacher Institute which is a research affilate to Planned Parenthood. In the study Titled "Repeat Abortion in the United States" research found that 48.2 percent of women who had abortions during the year of 2000-2001 were obtaining multiple abortions to read the full article go to http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2006/nov/06112301.html

The Guttmacher Report on Public Policy says that the Bush adminstrations policy to reduce abortions in this great country. This policy is to fund abstinence only program which they raised the budget that they get to do this program. I do believe that teens will be teens and I know as a teenager that the temptation is there. This is why I am ok with the schools giving condoms out to kids. My high school in 2002 when I was a Junior did give out condoms to our entire class. For those who might have a problem with that I will say that the temptation is there and I rather them be protected and not get diseases or pregnet. More then likely they will have an abortion. In 1997 there was 3 programs promoting abstinence. Heres what they can teach in public schools...

According to federal law, an eligible abstinence education program is one that:

A) has as its exclusive purpose, teaching the social, physiological, and health gains to be realized by abstaining from sexual activity;
B) teaches abstinence from sexual activity outside marriage as the expected standard for all school age children;
C) teaches that abstinence from sexual activity is the only certain way to avoid out-of-wedlock pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and other associated health problems;
D) teaches that a mutually faithful monogamous relationship in context of marriage is the expected standard of human sexual activity;
E) teaches that sexual activity outside of the context of marriage is likely to have harmful psychological and physical effects;
F) teaches that bearing children out-of-wedlock is likely to have harmful consequences for the child, the child's parents, and society;
G) teaches young people how to reject sexual advances and how alcohol and drug use increases vulnerability to sexual advances; and
H) teaches the importance of attaining self-sufficiency before engaging in sexual activity.
Source: U.S. Social Security Act, Sec. 510(b)(2).

In closing, I do think this is the best for our country to have these lessons in school. I don't think that condoms should not be given to 11 year olds like they wanted to in Maine. We should be like certain countries like Brazil, Bhutan,Mali, Philippines where if the womens life is in danger or rape thats the only time they can have abortions...

http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/ab-unitedstates.html

http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2006/nov/06112301.html

http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/tgr/05/1/gr050101.html

http://www.pregnantpause.org/lex/world02.jsp#ly

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://sholmgren-world.blogspot.com/2008/01/has-abortions-really-gone-up-since.html' title='Has Abortions really gone up since George W. I would love to have that happen but I had a friend e-mail me and say that she is doing all this to score "political points". What I am talking about is when she started crying on a campagin stop. I do agree with that everything that the clintons do is calculated. I still believe that she will get the democratic nomination and will WIN the White House. I do not want that to happen but Barack Obama; Edwards are not out of it yet. There is not a candiate that I would want to win. This one I can almost guarantee that you have not heard this. John McCain was in New Hampsire for the primaries and so was the Freedom Project and there was a shoving match that ended up happening. My hero Sean Hannity was at New Hampsire for the primaries on Tuesday and some crazy Ron Paul supporters were trying to scare Sean Hannity away.

Hillary Clinton was on a campaign stop in New Hampsire and recieved a question from a voter who later we find out voted for Barack Obama. The Question was by Marianne Pernold-Young and she asked the New York Senator "How do you do it? How do you keep up ... and who does your hair?" Then the former first lady answered and said she had help with her hair on "special days," and that she drew criticism on the days she did not. Then she added: "It's not easy, and I couldn't do it if I just didn't, you know, passionately believe it was the right thing to do. Then she started to choke up and said "You know, I have so many opportunities from this country, I just don't want to see us fall backwards," she said, her voice breaking a bit. The audience applauded. "This is very personal for me, it's not just political, it's [that] I see what's happening, we have to reverse it," she said emotionally, adding that some "just put ourselves out there and do this against some pretty difficult odds. "But some of us are right and some of us are wrong. Some of us ready and some of us are not. Some of us know what we will do on day one, and some of us really haven't thought that through enough.""So as tired as I am and I am. And as difficult as it is to try and keep up what I try to do on the road, like occasionally exercise and try to eat right -- it's tough when the easiest food is pizza -- I just believe so strongly in who we are as a nation. So I'm going to do everything I can and make my case and you know the voters get to decide." All I have to say is she is a good actress but I don't buy it for a second. I do think it helped her win New Hampsire. This will be a moment that I will always remember. With Hillary Clinton crying I didn't think that witch had feelings.

John McCain was in New Hampsire for the primaries this was at the same time as the New Hampshire Liberty Forum at the same hotel. Well people who love freedom like I do was carrying guns on their waists. Well I guess the John McCain people didn't like that. They complained to the hotels staff and some people did take them off but there were a few who kept them on their waists. The person reported that he was upset because that is our 2nd amendment right. Well he put it online and the McCain staff avoided the Liberty Forum attendees and he went into a elevator like people usually do. All he wanted to do was ask why he had a problem with people carrying guns. To watch the whole video go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nzh3U1Tk3Do.

Then we have the crazy Ron Paul supporters who hate Sean Hannity with a passion. Sean was covering the primaries and they were mad because FOXNEWS didn't let Ron Paul go to the debates. I do support FoxNews but not on this decision. He did defeat Guillani and they say they have to have at least 10 percent of the vote according to realclearpolitics. Sean was staying at a local hotel and wanted to say hi to all the Foxnews focus group by Mr. Luntz. He got a call from a friend who also worked at FOXNEWS and said u better not come over here because there are about 200 people protesting. He said nobody is going to stop me in my country from doing what I want to do. Then the person said maybe you should bring a security guard and Sean said I am from a small Manhatten house and never needed security and will not start now. I can respect that he is truly a GREAT AMERICAN. Well while he was in the restuarent they were screaming and pounding on the glass. He went out and that really made them mad and walked out and smilied and they followed him all the way back to the hotel. Don't believe the liberal media saying he ran from them because it wasn't true

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/07/clinton.emotional/index.html
http://blog.wired.com/sterling/2008/01/new-hampshire-l.html
http://www.homelandstupidity.us/2008/01/08/new-hampshire-liberty-forum-wrap-up/
http://radioequalizer.blogspot.com/2008/01/angry-ron-paul-supporters-chase-harass.html
